On 30 September 2024, Yerevan (Republic of Armenia), a joint meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) was held in the roundtable format within the framework of the Business Programme of the III Eurasian Economic Forum (Forum).
The event was attended by:
Varos Simonyan, Member of the Board, Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Information Support, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission;
Gevorg Mantashyan, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia;
Askhat Orazbek, Vice-Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Zhumamudun Zhumaliev, First Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting was moderated by Alexey Borodin, RCC Director General.
The participants of the round table exchanged views on the following issues:
1. Assessment of the level of digitalization of the Member-States based on statistical data and indicators characterising the level of ICT development. Review of methodologies used to assess the level of digitalization.
2. Formation of uniform conditions for mobile roaming services and reduction of mobile roaming prices in the EAEU Member-States.
3. Possible steps for mutual recognition of identification and authentication systems of citizens of the Member-States.
4. Co-operation in the field of artificial intelligence. Exchange of advanced experience and best practices.
5. On the draft Action Plan (‘Roadmap’) on interaction between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications for 2024-2027.
At the end of the EEC-RCC joint-meeting, the signing ceremony of the Action Plan (‘Roadmap’) on the interaction between the EEC and the RCC for 2024-2027 took place.
