The Office of Communications and Information Technologies (Communications Administration) of the Mongolian People's Republic requested the RCC Executive Committee to join the RCC as a full member. A request for support was also set out when considering this issue at the next meeting of the RCC Board of the CAs Heads

     Mongolia has been a full member of the UPU since 1963 and ITU since 1964, as well as the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), which is one of the ITU's regional telecommunications organizations, since 1991 and has been actively engaged in their activities.

     Mongolia is located in Central Asia, according to the ITU Radio Frequency Allocation Rules, but it is considered a country in Region-1, the same as the CIS countries.

CITA is the regulatory body of the Government of Mongolia, under the auspices of the Prime Minister, responsible for the development and implementation of policies in the field of information technology, communications, postal services and the radio frequency spectrum.

     For more than three years, the RCC Executive Committee has been negotiating with the regulatory body of the Government of Mongolia in the field of information technology, communications, postal services and the radio frequency spectrum.

      In May 2020, the Government of Mongolia allowed the Office of Communications and Information Technology (CITA) to join the RCC as a full member and formally apply for membership in accordance with the relevant procedures.

     The agenda of the next joint meeting of the RCC Board of the CAs Heads and the Coordination Council includes the issue of the entry of the Office of Communications and Information Technologies of the Mongolian People's Republic as a full member of the RCC Board(3rd decade of September 2020, Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan).
