The 49th meeting of the Working Group on the work with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU WG) at the RCC Commission for the Coordination of International Cooperation was held on 26-27 August 2024 in Bayet, Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting was opened by Nuriya Kutnaeva, Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, who personally participated in the meeting and warmly welcomed the meeting participants on the shore of the country's natural pearl - Lake Issyk-Kul.
The Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Seizo Onoe, who also personally participated in the meeting, also made a welcoming speech to the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Alexey Borodin, Chairman of the ITU Working Group.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Zamirbek Kozhomuratov presented to the meeting information on the regional development of fibre optic communication infrastructure in the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was also presented information about the State Cloud Platform G-Cloud, developed within the framework of the project ‘Digital-CASA Kyrgyz Republic’.
The meeting discussed a number of key issues related to the coordination of international cooperation within the framework of ITU activities, in particular the preparation of the RCC Communications Administrations (CAs) for the second block of meetings of the ITU Council Working Groups and Expert Groups in 2024 (30 September-11 October 2024, Geneva, Switzerland), supporting the submission of a number of contributions to the RCC Commission for the Coordination of International Cooperation for endorsement on issues related to ITU participation in major events on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the protection of children with disabilities, the protection of children with disabilities and the protection of children with disabilities.
The meeting also began preparations for the next World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) to be hosted by the Republic of Azerbaijan in November 2025, including work on a draft list of topics for regional initiatives for WTDC-25 - work on which will lay the groundwork for a wide-ranging discussion of regional initiatives at a regional preparatory meeting to be held by ITU ahead of WTDC 2025 in the Kyrgyz Republic at the end of April next year.
A key topic of the meeting was preparations for the upcoming ITU World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly (WTSA), which will be held in New Delhi, India, as early as October this year. Thus, the ITU TSB Director presented information on the Global Symposium on Standards, which will be held on the eve of WTSA-24, the RCC AU coordinator on preparations for WTSA-23 presented the results of the second interregional meeting on preparations for the Assembly (25 July 2024).
The meeting considered more than two dozen proposals to the draft RCC Common Proposals for WTSA-24 and the nominations of RCC CAs for WTSA 2024 leadership positions and ITU Telecommunication Standardisation Sector Working Bodies - all of which were supported by the meeting and forwarded for approval to the RCC Commission for the Coordination of International Cooperation, whose joint meeting with the ITU WG will be held on 28 August 2024.
In addition, the 49th meeting was held in an updated format, with two round tables on the agenda, which revealed a strong interest and engagement of participants in such a format.
Thus, on 26 August 2024, a round table dedicated to the development of Artificial Intelligence technology and meta-universe was held, within the framework of which their vision was shared with the meeting:

On 27 August 2024, also in the format of a round table, the participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of deployment and implementation of early warning systems for emergencies and disasters and held a thorough discussion based on the presentations of the following speakers:
