On June 4, 2024 in Minsk (Republic of Belarus) the joint 60th meeting of the RCC Board of the Communications Administrations Heads – members of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications and the 30th meeting of the Coordination Council of the CIS Member-States on Informatization at the RCC was held
The meeting was attended by members of the Board – Heads of the Communications Administrations of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Regional Branch of the International Telecommunication Union for the CIS States, the Universal Postal Union, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member-States, the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS, the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy, the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, Heads of Coordination Council of Special Communications Services, the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting was opened and chaired by Sherzod Shermatov, Chairman of the RCC Board of the Communications Administrations Heads and the Coordination Council of the CIS Member-States on Informatization at the RCC, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Minister of Communications and Informatisation of the Republic of Belarus, Konstantin Shulgan, was appointed as the co-chairman of the meeting, he chaired the meeting of the RCC Board of the CAs Heads in the second part of the day.
Minister of Communications and Informatisation of the Republic of Belarus Konstantin Shulgan, Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Ilhom Nematov, Deputy Director General of the Universal Postal Union Marjan Osvald and representative of the Secretariat of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member-States Alexander Surygin addressed the participants of the meeting.
During the meeting 14 issues were considered, including promising directions in the field of digital development in the RCC Member-States, model principles of digital market participants of the Commonwealth of Independent States, monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals in the CIS region, current problems of legal regulation of the usage of artificial intelligence technologies, proposals for the Strategic Development of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications for the period up to 2028, on the preparation of a Strategy for Cooperation between the CIS States in the construction and development of the information society for the period up to 2035 and the Action Plan for its implementation for the period up to 2035 and other issues.
RCC Director General Alexey Borodin presented to the RCC Board of the CAs Heads proposals on the Strategic Development of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications for the period up to 2028, which were generally approved by the Board.
Within the framework of the meeting the procedure of signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications and the Interstate Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Agreement on cooperation in the field of professional education and scientific activities in the field of quantum communications between the educational institution ‘Belarusian State Academy of Communications’ (Republic of Belarus) and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education "Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics" (Russian Federation).
The next 61/31 joint-meeting of the RCC Board of the Communications Administrations Heads and the Coordination Council of the CIS Member-States on Informatization at the RCC is scheduled to take place in the second half of the 2024.
