On 15 May 2024 in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, on the margins of the GSMA M360 Eurasia Conference, a meeting was held between Alexey Borodin, Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications, and Samir Gacay oglu Mamedov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The parties discussed the region's preparations for the next World Telecommunication Development Conference, which the Republic of Azerbaijan will graciously host from 17 to 28 November 2025 in Baku, the country's contribution to the work of the International Telecommunication Union, in particular, the role of its representatives in the positions of vice-chairmen of the ITU Council Working Groups and in the Union's Radio Regulations Committee, as well as the active work of Azerbaijani experts during the World Radiocommunication Conference 2024. In addition, views were exchanged on the preparations for the forthcoming meeting of the RCC Board of the Communications Administrations Heads on 04 June 2024.
An important aspect of the discussion was the prospects of strengthening and developing cooperation of the RCC Communications Administrations within the framework of the Commonwealth activities in such areas as artificial intelligence and linguistic models for its development, involvement of new players in the field of RCC activities and others.
