On 20 May 2024, the 47th meeting of the Working Group on the Work with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU WG) at the RCC Commission for the Coordination of International Cooperation was held via videoconference.

The meeting was opened by Alexey Borodin, Chairman of the ITU WG, RCC Director General.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Communications Administrations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of Intersputnik, Rostelecom and the staff of the RCC Executive Committee.

Particular attention was paid to the preparations for the ITU Council summer session to be held from 4 to 14 June in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting participants discussed several proposals for contributions to the Council session - they were approved by the meeting.

During the 47th ITU WG meeting, candidates from the RCC/CIS region for vice-chair positions in the following ITU Council Working Groups and expert groups were also considered:

- Working Group on Financial and Human Resources,

- Expert Group on Decision 482,

- Expert Group on International Telecommunication Regulations,

- Working Group on the Development of Strategic and Financial Plans,

- Informal Expert Group on the World Telecommunication Policy Forum.

In addition, preparations for major ITU events were an important part of the discussions, in particular, the Communications Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan presented information on holding the World Telecommunication Development Conference in November 2025.
