On March 1, 2024, the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, Doreen Bogdan-Martin, announced the formation of her first Youth Advisory Board, consisting of 12 young experts and innovators in the field of digital technologies aged 18 to 30 years.

From the CIS region, the appointed members of the ITU Secretary General's Youth Advisory Council are:

Ulyana Stolyarova (Russia), specialist in the development and implementation of ICT at the Russian Radio Research Institute,

Nadir Atayev (Azerbaijan), an equipment research engineer and scientist, currently works in the Research and Development Department of the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos).

The Youth Advisory Council will present specific, innovative and comprehensive recommendations to the ITU Secretary-General on enhancing international cooperation in strengthening global connectivity. At the heart of this initiative is the goal of giving young people a voice in the UN Digital Agency and offering new perspectives.
