From February 26-27, 2024, the UPU International Bureau (IB UPU), in cooperation with the United States Postal Service (USPS), held a webinar for designated operators on electronic advance data (EAD) and the Customs Declaration System (CDS).

Delegates from UPU member countries attended the meeting.

From the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications participated representatives of: the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Federation, as well as the management and staff of the RCC Executive Committee.

Marjan Osvald, Deputy Director General of the UPU IB opened the meeting and made a welcoming speech.

The meeting was chaired by Nicolás Bilhoto, Coordinator for Latin America, the Caribbean and Postal Sector Modernization.

At the meeting, representatives of the United States Postal Service made a presentation on the compatibility of the EPD with United States law.

The program of the meeting covered various aspects related to the use of EPDs:

Module 1: The UPU's Universal Postal Union model for the use of EPDs;

Module 2: Compatibility of EPDs with US law;

Module 3: Supporting tools for the implementation of the EPD.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Nicholas Bilhoto thanked all participants for joining and for preparing for the meeting.
