On February 20, 2024, within the framework of the Euro-Asian IT-Forum "Digital sovereignty as the basis for long-term international cooperation", Alexey Sergeevich Borodin, Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications, and Kosmas Zavazava, Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union, met.

The parties discussed preparations for the upcoming ITU forums in 2024:

- ​Regional ITU Development Forum for the CIS region (March 26-27, 2024, Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan),

- ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2024,

- Regional preparatory meeting for the 2025 World Telecommunication Development Conference.

In addition, issues of implementing development projects within the framework of regional initiatives approved at WTDC-22 were discussed.

The working meeting was held in a constructive manner and made it possible to outline current directions for further expansion of cooperation between the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications with the International Telecommunication Union in the field of information and communication technologies.
