The Central Museum of Communications named after A.S. Popov is one of the oldest scientific and technical museums in the world, founded in 1872 as the Telegraph Museum.

Thematically dedicated to the history of the development of various types of communications.

It contains exhibits and materials related to the history of mail and postal payment marks, including postcards, postal letters, stamped envelopes, rare archival materials illustrating the history of mail in Russia.

These exhibits allow you to study the evolution of postal items and their design - from the historical period of the 18th-19th centuries to the emergence of mail art, one of the modern trends in art.

The permanent exhibition of the museum includes a number of sections: “Postal Communications”, “History of the Post Town”, “Physical Phenomena of Telecommunications”, “Telegraph”, “Telephone”, “Radio Communications”, “Mobile Communications”, “Radio Broadcasting”, “Telephone Exchanges”, “Modern communications”, “Space communications”, “Museum services”, “Television” and “Networks and communication lines”.
