On January 26, 2024, a UPU Strategy Development Regional Roundtable Europe and CIS region was held in videoconferencing format.
The meeting was attended by delegates from UPU member countries.
Representatives from the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications took part: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the leadership and staff of the RCC Executive Committee.
At the meeting, welcoming speeches were made by the Director of the Development and Cooperation Department of the UPU IB Mutua Muthusi, the Director of Policy, Regulation and Markets of the UPU IB Siva Somasundram and the Co-Chairman of the Regional Roundtable on UPU Strategy Development Milner Makuni.
The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Program for the European Region and the CIS of the UPU IB, Mario Gonzalez-Montiel.
The meeting agenda included the following:
- Presentation of the results of the regional study;
- Questions and answers on the regional survey;
- Discussion of key issues.
At the meeting, UPU IB representative Saleh Khan made a presentation on the results of a regional survey of UPU member countries.
During the consultation process, key risks and opportunities for the Europe and CIS region from the point of view of stakeholders were discussed.
We also discussed what UPU decisions are needed to eliminate risks and take advantage of opportunities.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the UPU IB thanked all participants for their connection and active work.
