On January 18, 2024, the first interregional meeting on preparation for WTSA-24 was held in videoconferencing format.

The above meeting was attended by ITU member countries, as well as observers, including representatives of regional and international organizations.

Representatives of the Communications Administrations of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, as well as the leadership and employees of the RCC Executive Committee took part from the RCC.

The meeting was attended by welcoming speeches by the Director of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Bureau, Seizo Onoe, and the Chairman of the interregional meeting on preparation for WTSA-24, Ritu Ranjan Mittar.

During the meeting, TSB Deputy Director Bilel Jamoussi provided an update on preparations for WTSA-24.

Further, during the meeting in the framework of the preparation of regional groups for WTSA-24, representatives of APT, ATU, LAS/AST, CEPT, CITEL and RCC made relevant reports. On behalf of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications, Evgeniy Tonkikh, Coordinator for the preparation of the RCC for WTSA, spoke.

The agenda included the following issues:

- TSB information on preparations for WTSA-24;
- Updates of regional telecommunications organizations;
- Regional preparatory meetings for WTSA-24.

It was decided to hold the second meeting on preparation for WTSA-24 on July 25, 2024 via videoconferencing.
