On January 19, 2024, at the Branch of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow, an official acquaintance took place between the General Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications, Alexey Sergeevich Borodin, and the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Sergey Nikolaevich Lebedev. 

During the meeting, an active exchange of views took place on further interaction between the CIS Executive Committee and the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications, on the main tasks of the communications and ICT industry, and promising directions for the activities of the RCC and the relevant bodies of industry cooperation in the CIS were outlined.

Borodin A.S., being the head of the executive committee of the CIS industry cooperation body, intends in this responsible position to make every effort to strengthen the Commonwealth and increase its international authority, as well as to promote further coordination integration of the RCC member countries at the regional level and the representation of common interests in specialized UN agencies in the field of postal and telecommunications/ICT: the International Telecommunication Union and the Universal Postal Union.

In order to coordinate the activities of the CIS member states, when discussing and making timely decisions, the RCC is interested in holding joint meetings of its working bodies with the relevant CIS industry cooperation bodies involved in the implementation of decisions taken by the highest bodies of the CIS on digital development issues.
