On October 12, 2023, in the conference hall of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, the 26th meeting of the Expert Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) was held in a hybrid format.
Representatives of the communications administrations of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, employees of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council and the RCC Executive Committee took part in the work of the Expert Council of the IPA CIS-RSC.
The event was also attended by scientists, businessmen, politicians, and representatives of public organizations.
The meeting was opened by its moderators: General Director of the Joint Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Sergey Vladimirovich Kruglikov and Deputy Chairman of the Expert Council, General Director of the RCC Executive Committee, Nurudin Nasretdinovich Mukhitdinov.

- Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Legal Regulation of Information Technologies and Information Protection of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, Lyudmila Konstantinovna Tereshchenko,
- Chief Researcher of the Sector of Information Law and International Information Security of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Department of Information Law and Digital Technologies of Moscow State Law Academy, Viktor Borisovich Naumov.
- Executive Secretary of the Expert Council of the IPA CIS, Deputy Head of the Expert-Analytical Department of the Secretariat of the Council of the IPA CIS, Alexander Igorevich Surygin.
In the round table format, a lively discussion took place on the topic “Current problems of legal regulation of the use of artificial intelligence technologies,” on which reports and presentations were heard from participants.
During the meeting, current issues of legal regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) were discussed, including:
- priority tasks for the development of the field of AI,
- ethical principles for regulating AI,
- ensuring the required level of security for AI systems,
- increasing trust in AI systems,
- the need for international cooperation in the development of documents in the field of AI.
