The meeting was attended by about 100 delegates from member-states of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), members of international and regional organizations, as well as RCC representatives.
Representatives of the Communications Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as the staff of the RCC Executive Committee attended on behalf of the RCC.
Christiana Flutur, Co-Chair of CEPT and Chair of Com-ITU, opened the above-mentioned meeting and made a welcoming speech.
Jaroslav Ponder, Head of ITU Europe. Head of ITU Europe Office made a presentation on preparations for the Digital SDG meeting and ITU Actions in Europe.
In his presentation, Jaroslav Ponder highlighted important aspects of the SDG goal and One ITU approach developed by ITU Europe.
Michael Ion, who was elected as Chair of the ITU-T WG, also gave an opening address to the participants.
The agenda included the following:
1. Approval of the draft report of the Com-ITU meeting, 24-26 May 2023, Timisoara;
2. Presentation on the preparations for the Digital SDG meeting;
3. Presentation on ITU action in Europe;
4. Election of the new ITU-T SG Chair.
5. ITU-T SG session;
6. ITU-D SG session.
From 6-7 September, the ITU-T SG Session and the ITU-D SG Session took place.
The coordinators were Tobias Kaufmann and Inga Rimkeviciene.
The ITU-T SG Session discussed:
- CERT summary for WTSA-24. WTSA committee structure and assigned Resolutions/Recommendations/Opinions (based on the WTSA-20 structure);
- Information document on SG 13 quantum network and FG-Metaverse digital identity;
- TSAG RG-IEM Steering Committee;
- List of European General Proposals to WTSA-20 that may be relevant to the preparation of WTSA-24;
- Proposals for the restructuring of ITU-T study groups.
The following were discussed in the ITU-D SG Session:
- TDAG-23, General Conclusions;
- IDI V3 methodology;
- Invitation to the 2nd ITU-D study groups meeting;
- ICT Development Index (IDI) meeting;
- Draft report of the ITU-D SG meeting - 24 May 2023.
At the end of the meeting, Christiana Flutur thanked all participants for their fruitful work during the Com-ITU-D meeting.
