June 16, 2023, at the initiative of the ITU Secretariat held a working meeting of ITU regional organizations with the ITU Council President Mr. Cesar Martinez via videoconference.

The above meeting was attended by representatives of ITU regional organizations: the African Telecommunication Union (ATU), the League of Arab States (LAS), the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (CITEL) and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC).

N. Mukhitdinov, General-Director of the RCC Executive Committee, N. Zorya, Deputy General-Director of the RCC Executive Committee, A. Borodin, Chairman of the ITU Working Group at the CIC, and the staff of the RCC Executive Committee participated from the RCC.

During the meeting the list of candidates of regional organizations for the leading positions in the ITU Council working groups and groups of experts was considered.

Also the working points of interaction between ITU and regional organizations were discussed.

Within the framework of the meeting the Chairman of the Working Group on the ITU at the CIC A. Borodin gave a presentation.

The agenda included the following:

- Opening speech;

- Consideration of the list of candidates;

- Proposed criteria for chair selection;

- Next steps/meetings;

- Any other business.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Cesar Martinez, President of the ITU Council, thanked all the regional organizations for their hard work.
