On March 27, 2023 in Geneva, the opening of the second session of the Preparatory Meeting for the 2023 Conference (CPM23-2) took place.

The session was opened by ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Radiocommunication Bureau Director Mario Maniewicz and CPM-23 Chairperson Ms Cindy-Lee Cook.

The second session is to prepare a consolidated report to be used in support of the work of the World Radiocommunication Conference 2023, based on:

• submissions, discussions, streamlining and updating of submissions from the responsible groups relating to the WRC-23 agenda items, taking into account contributions from ITU Member States and Radiocommunication Sector Members relating to regulatory, technical, operational and procedural matters to be considered by the conference;

• including, as far as practicable, reconciled differences in the approaches contained in the source material, or, in the event that all efforts to reconcile differences have been exhausted, alternative approaches may be included with their rationale.

Representatives of the Communications Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications take part in the work of CPM23-2 in a hybrid format: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the RCC Executive Committee.

The agenda includes the following:

- Appointment of the Rapporteur of the plenary session;

- Presentation of the draft CPM Report to WRC-23;

- Submission of reports of the BR Director to CPM23-2;

- Structure of CPM23-2, Appointment of chairmen and organization of work;

- Appointment of documents;

- Schedule of key meetings and practical information;

- Consideration of the issue of approving without changes the draft texts of the CPM;

- Other questions.
