On March 14, 2023, the 40th meeting of the Working Group for Work with the ITU under the RCC Commission for the Coordination of International Cooperation was held in the videoconferencing format.

The meeting was opened by Alexey Sergeevich Borodin, Chairman of the Working Group on Work with ITU under the CIC, Advisor to the General Director of FSUE “Space Communications”.

The General Director of the RCC Executive Committee Mukhitdinov Nurudin Nasretdinovich delivered a welcoming speech.

The event was attended by representatives of the Communications Administrations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the involvement of experts from the organizations of RCC participants.

The meeting was attended by observers, representatives of the Intersputnik Intersputnik.

Within the framework of the meeting of the Working Group, the proposals of the countries of the RCC participants to the Global Digital Compact, the issue of electing the Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of the Working Group for Work with ITU under the CIC, as well as the issue of nominating RCC representatives to the working bodies of the ITU were considered.

Particular attention of the participants was paid to the issue of the election of the Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of the Working Group on work with the ITU under the CCM, as well as the issue of nominating RCC representatives to the working bodies of the ITU:

- Independent Management Advisory Committee (IMAC) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Resolution 162 (Rev. Bucharest, 2022);

- two nominees from our region to the Capacity Building Action Group (GCBI);

- candidates for the positions of chairmen and vice-chairmen of Council working groups and expert groups for the period/cycle 2023-2026.

The meeting was held in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere.
