On September 14, a regular meeting of the Commission on Economic Affairs was held in Moscow, during which a wide range of issues of economic cooperation between the CIS member states was considered.
Within the framework of the above meeting of the Commission, a draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of combating fraud (fraud) on telecommunication networks, developed by the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) together with the Coordinating Council of the CIS Member States on Informatization under the RCC, was considered.
The General Director of the RCC Executive Committee Mukhitdinov Nurudin Nasretdinovich spoke on this issue.
The objectives of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of combating fraud (fraud) on telecommunication networks (hereinafter referred to as the Memorandum) are to create conditions for the sustainable functioning and effective development of the market for international telecommunication services in the interests of end consumers and the protection of the economic interests of telecommunication operators, the creation conditions for preventing the spread of fraud (fraud) on the telecommunication networks of the CIS member states.
The adoption of the Memorandum will contribute to purposeful and coordinated actions of the competent authorities of the CIS member states and interested bodies of industry cooperation of the CIS to help prevent the formation of key prerequisites for the occurrence of fraud (fraud) on telecommunication networks.
The draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of combating fraud (fraud) on telecommunication networks was approved by the Commission on Economic Affairs and submitted for approval by the CIS Economic Council (December, 2022).
