In the period from March 1 to March 9, 2022, the ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly was held in Geneva (Switzerland).

The Assembly was attended by about 1800 participants in a hybrid format, including the delegations of the countries participating in the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications - the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan and representatives of the RCC Executive Committee .

The following persons were elected to the leading positions of WTSA-20:

- Chairman of the Budget Control Committee - Mammadov B.N., and. about. Head of the Department of Technological Development and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

- Vice-Chairman of the ITU-T Working Methods Committee - Musaeva U. R., Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Work Programs and Organization of ITU-T - Azimov M., Head of the Organizational Control Department of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the final plenary session of the Assembly, the following were elected from the RCC:

- for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Consultative Group on Telecommunication Standardization - Azimov U.M., Deputy Director of the Center for Scientific, Technical and Marketing Research of the State Unitary Enterprise "UNICON.UZ", the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Study Commission 5 "Environment, climate change and the circular economy" - Saydiakbarov S., Deputy Head of the service of the basic organization of standardization of the state unitary enterprise center for scientific, technical and marketing research - "UNICON.UZ", Republic of Uzbekistan;

- for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Study Group 13 "Future networks, in particular IMT-2020, cloud computing and trusted network infrastructures" - Asadov O.N., Head of the Department for the Prospective Development of Telecommunication Networks of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Study Commission 16 "Multimedia" - Savurbaev A., Head of the Department for the Implementation and Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

29 General Proposals from the RCC (RCC OP) were prepared for the Assembly regarding the working methods, work programs and organization of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T), draft new resolutions, as well as the revision of a number of provisions of the WTSA Resolutions in accordance with the decisions of the Plenipotentiary Conference ITU 2018 and the ITU Council.

Thanks to the joint coordinated work of the RCC CA delegations, the RCC General Proposals were approved by the WTSA Plenum and reflected in the final documents of the Assembly.

During the work of WTSA-20, in accordance with the instructions of the Council of Heads of RCC CAs, RCC coordination meetings were regularly held in order to coordinate the participation of representatives of RCC communication administrations in developing joint decisions on the presentation of RCC General Proposals and reflecting the RCC position in the final documents of the assembly.

During the work of WTSA-20, 8 coordination meetings were held on the issues of the WTSA-20 agenda prepared by the RCC Executive Committee on the eve of the meeting.

Chairman of the RCC Coordinating Meetings, Chairman of the Working Group on Work with ITU Borodin A.S. together with the RCC Executive Committee was engaged in preparation of the RCC coordination meetings on the issues of the WTSA-20 agenda.

At the meetings, the RCC CA delegates discussed the results of the past day, heard the reports of the coordinators on the progress of promoting the RCC contributions, agreed on work plans, and also developed coordinated decisions to develop coordinated actions at ad-hoc groups taking place in several meeting rooms.
