On February 18, 2022, an informal RCC-CERT Interregional Coordination Meeting was held to prepare for WTSA-20.
The meeting was held in the format of videoconferencing.
The event was attended by more than 30 representatives from the CEPT and RCC member countries, including representatives of the Communications Administrations: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the RCC Executive Committee.
Alexey Borodin and Cristiana Flutur made welcoming speeches at the opening of the meeting. The main attention of the participants was given to the consideration of proposals made in Resolutions 1, 2, 43 50, 55, 67 and 72.
Alexander Vasiliev, Paul Redwin, Evgeny Tonkikh and Oliver Dubuisson took the floor during their discussion. On Resolution 67 concerning the equal use of the languages of the Union. Evgeny Tonkikh was given the opportunity to act as a coordinator on behalf of CEPT.
Another set of questions related to changes being made to the Sector's recommendations. In this regard, the representative of Russia, Dmitry Cherkesov, expressed concern that contributions to the work of TSAG are sometimes postponed without explanation, and then ignored. There are also questions about non-compliance with the deadlines for the preparation of documents specified in the Work Program. He also drew attention to the not always correct reflection of discussions at the meetings of the working bodies of the TSB, and the limited opportunities for the submission of contributions by non-English-speaking participants.
As a result, it was decided to continue the exchange of views on these topics between the coordinators.
In conclusion, Alexey Borodin, Cristiana Flutur and Bakhtiyar Mammadov thanked the participants for their work, and the organizers for the quality preparation of the event.
