An extraordinary meeting of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunication Community (APT) Preparatory Group for the ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference 2021 (WTDC-21) was held on November 12, 2020 via videoconference. The event was attended by more than 60 representatives of APT members, regional and international telecommunication organizations.

The meeting opened with greetings from APT Secretary General Arivan Haorangsi and ITU Deputy Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau Stephen Beraud, while the APT Chairman of WTDC-21 Ahmad Reza Sharafat addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

Representatives of the Communications Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, employees of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise of the Radio Research Institute, as well as the leadership of the RCC Executive Committee took part in the extraordinary meeting of the APT for WTDC-21.

At the above meeting, the participants discussed the results of the activities of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group, as well as the process of preparation for the meeting of the Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group.

At the end of the meeting of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunication Community for WTDC-21, APT Secretary General Arivan Haorangsi and APT Chairman WTDC-21 Ahmad Reza Sharafat summed up the event and thanked all participants for their constructive and fruitful work.

At the same time, the work in the ITU Regional Organizations on the preparation and holding of Regional Preparatory Meetings for the ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference 2021 will continue.
