The 87th meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held in the format of videoconference.
The meeting was opened and chaired by the Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov.
The meeting was attended by the plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS Member-States of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
The participants discussed 18 issues on cooperation in economic and other spheres, some of which will be sent to the CIS Council of Heads of Government for consideration at the next meeting in November this year.
At the same time, two issues from the RCC were considered and approved at today's meeting of the CIS Economic Council, namely:
1. On the draft Agreement on information interaction of the CIS Member-States in the field of digital development of the Society (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement);
2. On the implementation of the Strategy for Cooperation of the CIS Member-States in building and development of the Information Society for the period up to 2025 (hereinafter - the Strategy) and the Action Plan for its implementation.
The draft Agreement was approved and will be submitted for consideration at the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. The strategy and the Action Plan for its implementation were considered as information and analytical material.
The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council is planned to be held in December 2020 in Moscow.
