The Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the AI for Good Global Summit and was also represented in the project “Improving AI Management Skills and Standards”.

The main objectives of the project are to inform about the best practices of AI regulation and management in accordance with international and national standards, as well as to exchange knowledge and experience in AI policy and standards.

Based on the results of the competitive selection for participation in the project, ISO approved the following candidates:
• Bakhtiyar Mammadov — Chairman of the Technical Committee for Standardization on "Information and Communication Technologies" (AZSTAND/TK-05) - Deputy Head of the Office of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan
• Firuza Bahri — Coordinator of the Technical Committee - Head of the Department of Standardization of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Telecommunications of the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute

Azerbaijan was among the 14 countries that won the competition, along with such countries as Great Britain, Egypt, India, Canada, the USA and others. This demonstrates the competitiveness of national expertise, the readiness of the region to actively participate and contribute to solving global challenges.

Within the framework of the event, detailed information was provided on the “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028”, approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 15, 2025 No. 530, and the standards adopted by the Technical Committee for Standardization “Information and Communication Technologies” (AZSTAND/TK-05) in the field of artificial intelligence and approved by the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND).
