Today, May 7, many countries in our region celebrate Radio Day, a holiday for workers in all branches of communications.
130 years ago - on May 7, 1895 - the outstanding scientist Alexander Popov demonstrated the world's first spark wireless receiving and transmitting radio system, which laid the foundation for the modern communications and IT industry.
Radio today is not only radiotelephone and radiotelegraphic communication, broadcasting and television, but also radiolocation and radio astronomy, radio control and many other fields of technology. Radio became the basis for navigation systems, mobile communications, wireless data networks and the Internet, without which modern life is unimaginable.
In 2011, the main conference hall at the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union was opened and named after the inventor of radio, Alexander Popov.
The Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications congratulates all colleagues, partners and specialists in the field of communications on their professional holiday!
We wish you a stable signal in all spheres of life!
